SAPTARI: Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) Upendra Yadav has averred on Monday that the 7-point peace deal forged between the UCPN-Maoist establishment faction and the non-Maoist actors is not going to bear a sustainable peace.

Speaking at a press meet organized in Rajbiraj by the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal, Saptari chapter, the former minister appraised the facades of the peace deal and said, integrating only 6,500 Maoist People Liberation Armies(PLA)’s combatants and sending others home by handing some amount of money in the name of rehabilitation may ignite a fresh conflict.

“The seven-point deal has misjudged the idea of Security Sector Reform (SSR) and making it inclusive, which has kept intact possibility of conflict,” he said.

Yadav doubted the implementation of the seven- point deal, saying the leaders of the major parties are not honest.

Laying a claim that the incumbent Bhattarai-led government cannot execute the twin tasks of process and statute, Yadav called for a national consensus government.
